Abstract：The standard of strong detemperature in the Three Gorges area of Yangtze River is proposed. Using day by day temperature data of Yichang weather station from 1952 to 1995, the number of detemperature process is counted and the interannual change character is analysed. Evidence suggests that since the eighties,the number of strong detemperature process has decreased in September, December and January. As the strong cold air activity become weaker the Yichang area has experienced several warm winters in succession in recent years.
