Abstract:The cell permeability and peroxidase (POD) activity were evaluated on the susceptible tobacco variety NC89 and resistant transgenic(PVY-NIb)NC89 in leaves after potato virus Y-vein necrosis strain(PVY N) inoculation. Results showed that the changes of cell permeability and POD activity tended to increase, but the increased range in susceptible tobacco was significantly higher than that in resistant one. There was one new isoenzyme band showed both in susceptible and resistant tobacco after PVY N infection, howerver, the new band started to show from the second day after inoculation in the resistant tobacco, and showed from the sixth day in the susceptible one, the activity was obviously higher than that in resistant tobacco.
