Abstract:This paper introduces the working principles of a new electrorheological shock absorber which is developed on the basis of electrorheological technology and sets up a mathematical model for the new ERF shock absorber. It describes the relationship beteeen electric field and resistance force of ERF shock absorber and believes theoretically, the pressure drop along electrodes will be divided into two parts: ons is related with viscosity and another one is with dynamic yield shear stress. The model is available for the analysis and calculation on ERF shock absorber which is meaningful for practical application
