Abstract：This paper deals with the fauna analysis and the vertical distribution of the grasshoppers which belong to 8 families. It is found that they are distributed in 4 vertical zones:Farming zone, Evergreen and Deciduous broad leaved mixed forest zone, Deciduous broad leaved forest zone, Peak coppice zone in Dabieshan Mountains, Hubei Province. The species number of grasshoppers in each zone was 37, 35, 20,12 respectively. The fauna elements of grasshoppers of Dabieshan Mountains belong to Oriental Region, Individual Palaearctic species disperses the area. There are 13 new records species, among which Alulatetrix bulbosus Zheng et Zhong, Formosatetrix tiantangensis Zheng et Zhong, Stenocatantops brevipennis Zhong et Zheng, Chorthippus tiantangensis Zhong et Zheng are new species, in Hubei Province.
