Abstract：The paper analyzes the characteristics of the flood in the Changjing Basin from the aspects of type, hydrology and disaster. It points out its type is diverse, its hydrology is complex, its loss is huge and its lasting time is long. From every aspect, it researches and discusses the causes, the main of which, are the rainstorm and the poor capability of their storing and releasing of the floodwater of lakes and rivers. It also elaborates the thinking way directed against the flood.
