Abstract:Nickel-cobalt-tungsten-phosphorus alloy was prepared by electroless on ferrous basic body.Electrocatalytic behavior of hydrogen evolution on the obtained alloy electrode was studied in 1 mol/L NaOH solution .The experiments showed that nickel-cobalt-tungsten-phosphorus electrodes has lower hydrogen evolution overpotential than that of nickel-cobalt-phosphorus or nickel-tungsten-phosphorus electrodes at the same current density. The element composition and crystal structure were evaluated by EDS and XRD analyses. The stability of the alloy in 1 mol/L NaOH solution and the apparent activation energy of hydrogen evolution reaction were also reported. The experiment results showed that nickel-cobalt-tungsten-phosphorus alloy has higher catalytic activity than that of nickel-cobalt-phosphorus or nickel-tungsten-phosphorus electrodes.
