Abstract：PCR-RFLP was used to detect the cry-1 type genes in eight standard Bt strains and two genetically engineered bacteria containing known cry1-type genes. The results matched the predicted restriction patterns, indicating that this method is feasible. Furthermore, test and determination of cry-1 type gene, insecticidal crystal proteins and toxicity to S. exigua and H. armigera of 70 local B. thuringiensis isolates were carried out to analyze their relationship.
