Abstract：Grain safety is very important to the development and stabilization of our country. Hanjiang River watershed is one of the most important granaries. The grain of the region has a prominent status in the whole country, other than afford the people of the Hanjiang River watershed. The actuality of grain safety on the middle and lower reaches of Hanjiang River is analyzed, and the opportunity and challenge during the development of the grain is discussed in this paper. A serial of questions on grain safety in the research region appeared. Finally, the countermeasures of grain safety are put forward, such as: protecting cultivated lands and agricultural environment, and strengthening the construction of water conservancy, and advancing the technology in (agriculture,) and adjusting the ratio of the varieties of the grain, and adjusting the ratio of the different crops in agriculture.
