Abstract：The black soil region in the northern China is one of the most important grain base, but after a long-term irrational utilization the quality of the black soil is degrading, in the meantime, after China's entry into the WTO, the great negative impact will be brought into the black soil region. In order to ensure the black soil a sustained use, the paper attempts to accomplish the ecological classification on the black soil regarding Jilin province as an example. Based on an analysis of ecological suitability of the black soil, different kinds of ecological land patterns about the black soil is discussed under the impact of natural, economical and social factors. The ecological classification is a base for the ecological regionalization on the black soil. It can provide scientific basis for constructing healthy ecological environments and making policies of environmental management.
