Abstract:For study on the interaction between catechol and deoxgribonucleic acid, ultraviolet-visble spectrophotometry, fluorescence spectrophotometry, cyclic voltammetry and quantum chemistry were used to study the interaction between catechols and deoxgribonucleic acid. In sodium phosphate buffer solution pH 7.42, the peaks and intension of absorption and fluorescence spectra change markedly, the peak of cyclic voltammetry shift to positive and its peak current increase. The theoretical calculation indicates that the catechols close to the phosphate groups in DNA. The electrostatic attraction between catechols and deoxgribonucleic acid are the major modes for the interaction.
