Abstract:Intermittent linear feedback control scheme is proposed to suppress the spiral waves and spatiotemporal chaos in the excitable media which defined by the Fitzhugh-Nagumo and Panfilov equation, which appear stable rotating spiral and spatiotemporal chaos under appropriate parameters and initial values. The error between the sampling Logistc chaotic signal and the activator variable of system is used to drive the whole system intermittently. More numerical simulation results give evidences that small gain for feedback and appropriate sample period kills the rotating stable spiral and spatiotemporal chaos quickly about 50 to 80 time units and the whole system reach homogeneous and stable soon when noise is not considered. Rotating stable spiral begins to become sparse and spiral wave breakup is observed.
