Abstract：SWOT analysis is broadly applied in regional planning, resource management, and strategy of land development in term of its advantages of combining internal conditions and external environment. This paper briefly introduces SWOT analysis, then applies it into identifying the strategic orientations of land use in Dongyang City, Zhejinag province. The research shows that this analysis is effective in illustrating strategic directions of land use and coherent in their logic relationship in county scale.
