Abstract：Physical geography developes slowly in modern natural scienes.That is not because of its comprehensive features,bus because of the fact thatmaterialist dialectics have not been properly used in the research of physicalgeography.Neither we used materialist dialectics to research the naturalcomprehensive system,nor we established the base of the scientific mothodo-logy of physical geography.Because of that,we couldn't use proof inphilosopyto defense the independence of physical geography,or promote the developmentof physical geography,so the objective laws in the natural comprehensivesystem can't be exposed,the concrete measures in reforming naturce can't betaken and the scientific forcasts can't be put forward.
