Abstract：The present paper is devoted to first statistics of the family compositae from eastern Hubei, in relation to the flora of Hubei. Accrding to our recent study on rich materials on hand, which are 2000 speciments and more, There are 84 genere, 1T8 species, 1 subspecies and 9 varieties in eastern Hubei, of which 17 species are reported the new distributions in Hubei. The locality, collector's name, number, herbarium and habit of every species are given in dedail. The work is to provide an essential refence for investigation of the flora of Hubei.
