Abstract:Based on the theoretical results of Suman Kumar Banik, the mean extinction time is introduced to the predator-prey model. On the basis of the steepest descent method, the analytical expressions of the MFPT (mean first-passage time) of the system is obtained, and the effects of colored cross-correlated noises on the mean extinction time of prey is investigated. The result shows that: (1) The MFPT T+(x-→xu) is a monotone decreasing function of additive noise intensity D. (2) The mean extinction time T-(x+→xu) decreases rapidly with the increase of D. (3)The curve image of T(x±→xu) vs Q appears as a peak which is similar to the stochastic resonance peak. (4) The correlation intensity of noise has a completely different influence on the mean extinction time T+(x-→xu) and T-(x+→xu). The results above provide theoretical guidance for the protection of endangered species and rare and precious species from the perspective of statistical physics, so as to ensure that biodiversity conservation is carried out more effectively.
