Study on the comparison of tourism efficiency and spatial-temporal evolution characteristics of the Yangtze River Economic Belt

Abstract：The tourism efficiency of 11 provinces and cities in the Yangtze River Economic Belt (abbr. YREB) from 2011 to 2017 is analyzed comparatively based on DEA model. The result shows that the Comprehensive efficiency of tourism in the YREB has spiraled in time； it demonstrates Concavity-type variation character in space， The tourism comprehensive efficiency of the provinces and cities in the middle stream of the Yangtze River is significantly lower than that of the upstream and downstream； In the correlation， The linkage between tourism resource allocation and new technology development in neighboring provinces and cities is obvious； In terms of development speed， the tourism industry starts later in the provinces and cities， the level of productivity improvement is more obvious. Based on above results， some advises are proposed which might help to promote the development efficiency of tourism in YREB， and promote the joint development of tourism among the provinces and cities in YREB to enhance the tourism competitiveness of the entire economic belt.
