Abstract:Economic geography may be defined as an enquiry into the allocation of production and consumption. The paper is divided into five subtopics: posing of the question, theoretical basis, practical implication, types of region, standards of evaluating. It also gives a summary review of the development of economic geography and the tendency of the modern economic geography with the special emphasis on the theoretical problem that economic geography is facing with during the first socialist period, particularly on the changing traditional ideas.
