Abstract：This paper points out that studies of "index system of China's physical education" and its reforms are closely linked and develop simultaneously. We should include all aspects of society in it and strengthen its adaptability. Besides, an intensified co-ordinating organization should be established for the purpose of enabling training mechanisms at all levels to keep in touch with one another. The paper also suggests forming a "kernel index system" so that "kernel index" and "plan index" could complement each other and serve the same function
