Abstract:Leading cultural enterprise plays an important role in leading the high-quality development of cultural industry. Based on the framework of evolutionary economic geography, methods including kernel density estimation, Geodetector and geographically weighted regression were employed to explore the spatial and temporal distribution characteristics and the influencing factors of leading cultural enterprises in China. Results are shown as follows: 1) in terms of distribution patterns, leading cultural enterprises exhibit an agglomeration trend with continuously intensifying concentration; 2) from an evolutionary perspective, China's leading cultural enterprises continue to expand towards the eastern coastal areas and northern regions represented by Beijing, demonstrating coexisting structural stability and dynamic adjustment, simultaneous overall expansion and local concentration, as well as a combination of market-driven and policy-guided features; 3) concerning agglomeration features, all leading cultural enterprises form a nationwide distribution pattern characterized by “two core and two secondary agglomeration areas, and multiple points of low-level agglomeration”; 4) from the perspective of the influencing factors financial capital, diversity agglomeration, innovation level and R&D investment are the key driving factors. Finally, the present study puts forward management suggestions including promoting the synergistic development of culture and finance, accelerating the layout of new digital cultural infrastructure, and innovating the development of new cultural productivity, so as to provide valuable insights for promoting regional coordinated development among China's leading cultural enterprises.
