Abstract:Web-star villages present a new development model that relies on network media to attract external funds, information and personnel resources to drive the rural development. It is important to improve the investment mechanism of rural revitalization and cultivate new rural industries and new forms of business. This paper uses Python to obtain the village internet comment texts from 2018 to 2023 to identify web-star villages, and then employs methods of content analysis, nuclear density analysis and stack analysis to explore the spatial differentiation characteristics, analyze the elements of influence and action process, and reveal the mechanism of web-star villages. Finally, new perspectives on the sustainable development of web-star villages are put forward . The results were shown as follows. 1) From 2018 to 2023, there were 689 web-star villages identified. Their spatial differentiation is influenced by the basic role of internal elements such as terrain, climate and rivers, as well as the boosting role of external elements such as urban agglomerations , major highways and internet. Overall, these villages present a spatial distribution pattern of “one center and two belts”. 2) Using Rost Content Ming 6 to extract the text features of web-star village comments, we categorized these villages into three types: villages with natural landscape, villages with culture and folk customs, and villages with local image web-stars. Among them, natural landscape villages have unique landscape, climate and plant landscape, forming a spatial pattern of two high-density areas and several sub-density areas; cultural and folk villages have splendid national history, culture, festivals and folk customs, and spatial characteristics of a mass local high value area and four sheet groups in spatial distribution; local image villages rely on village local elements and lifestyle to create a traditional Chinese rural artistic conception, forming high nuclear density area in the Yangtze River Delta region, Beijing-Henan area and Sichuan-Chongqing area. 3) In this paper, a novel pathway is proposed for the sustainable development of web-star villages, transitioning from transient digital traffic to enduring local retention, through three typology-specific strategies.
