Research on the construction of tourism urbanization level evaluation system in minority areas：a case study of Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture

Abstract：Tourism has become the leading industry for the rapid economic development and poverty eradication in mountainous ethnic areas. In recent years， the development of tourism has been playing an increasingly important role in promoting the new urbanization process. Therefore， this paper takes Enshi Tujia and Miao Autonomous Prefecture， a typical place where the tourism industry develops rapidly and is inhabited by ethnic minorities， as an example. The five dimensions of indicators， economic indicators， social indicators， spatial indicators， and ecological environment indicators are used to build a tourism urbanization level quality evaluation system. The entropy weight method is used to assign weights to 37 indicators under the five dimensions. Based on the evaluation value of tourism urbanization level in Enshi Prefecture from 2010 to 2018， the limiting factors in tourism urbanization process were diagnosed. Finally， according to the evaluation results， strategies and suggestions for improving the quality of tourism urbanization in Enshi Prefecture are put forward， in order to provide a reference for the quality evaluation of tourism urbanization in ethnic areas of China.
