Abstract：The high performance liquid chromatographic separation of some allelochemicals (caffeic acid, ferulic acid, 3-indolyacetic acid, benzoic acid, coumarin, salicylic acid, cinnamic acid) by means of a reversed-phase system is described. The system consists of a Zorbax ODS column and methanol-wate-formic acid ( 40:60:1 v/v)mobile phase. The system can be used to determine the above allelochemicals in agar media.
