Abstract：Being rooted in medieval humorous culture and Rabelais' literature practices, Bakhit's theory of carnival has avoided the one-sideness of the formalism and vulgar socialism and grasped the essence characteristics of comic consciousness. Bakhit's thought toward the dual characteristic of carnival laugh would be helpful for us to comprehensively understand and grasp the essence and aesthetical function of comedy. The relatively thought in Bakhtin's theory of carnival has revealed the important characteristics of comic mind.
