Abstract:This paper believes that Liu Yi chang, a Hongkong, is the first person in China to write stream of consciousness novels. It gives comment on his Winebibber and In the Temple respectively: Winebibber is a succesful experiment, which utilizes the techniques of western modern novels to write with Chinese materials. It's the first work that uses the skill of stream of consciousness and has its unique place in literary history; and In the Temple uses the psychoanalysis and modern consciousness to expound classical works, which may well be termed the classic work of contemporary "A New Book of Stories".
