Abstract：Fan Cheng da was a poet and phrasemonger of the Southern Song Dynasty. Though famous for his poems and phrases, he should be approved and acknowledged as a historian with new ideas by the whole society, especially the academic circles. His historical works GuiHaiYuHengZhi, which had novelty value, described clearly about the ecological culture history Guangxi especiallyin Guilin, where there were something about geographical aspects, living things, custom and medical diseases etc. It reflected not only the value of various historical data, but also the vivid features and novelty value of a document.
