Abstract：This paper, analyzes the function and cultural meaning of obscene folklore which are avoided by folklore researchers but popular in public. -It thinks that obscene folklore take sexual instinct, sexual interaction, sexual relationship and etc as their content with the function of passing the time, meeting the need of senses, spreading sexual knowledge, enhancing sexual life quality, expressing sexual emotion and harmonizing people's interrelationship. The essense of obscene folklore is an phenomena of anti-traditional concepts and anti-traditional ethics. It is a kind of modern enjoyable and comedic culture.
