Abstract：In Gedian city, Hubei Province, the bamboo slips of Chu State were excavated, on which
painted the formation of the universe--"Taiyi Produces Water". It's not the odd idea that came out by
sudden during the middle and end of the Warring States. Some records, such as Lao Zi, have already provided for it ample ideological or cultural materials. It has the mythological or folk cultural back-ground and basis. Taiyi is equal to Dao or Taiji of Taoism. Its stereotype is primal chaos ("Hundun"), sun or Polaris. Being "Sky, Earth and Mother", it produces water and through water, it produces crea-tures in the universe fatherly.
