Abstract：As to the social turbulence in Chinese history, the paper puts forward five opinions. Superstition gave rise to the alternation of regime, the lower class always made use of superstition to destabilize society, superstitious secret association was the organizational form which aroused social turbulence, superstitious documents made theoretical preparation for social turbulence, superstitious prediction was important public opinions which aroused social turbulence. Viewing it from a case-study angle, this paper regards that the downfall of the Qin Dynasty had something to do with the overflow of superstition. And it also suggests that we should strengthen the study on this field ,so that we can supply the mod-ernization with historical reference.
