Abstract：Based on more than 567 specimens of Pohlia Hedw. collected from all over Xinjiang Province in the past 35 years， genus Pohlia in Xinjiang， including 16 species and varieties， was newly updated in the checklist. It holds 53.3% of the total species in China. Four species were recorded for the first time in Xinjiang： Pohlia gedeana (Bosch & Sande Lac.) Gangulee， P. ludwigii (Spreng. ex Schw?gr.) Broth.， P. marchica Osterwald and P. tapintzensis (Besch.) Redf. & B.C. Tan. A key list to the species of the genus in Xinjiang was given. The important taxonomic features， habitats and microstructures photos of the newly recorded species were provided in this paper. The study expanded the rang of geographical distribution for these species， and added new data for the genus in China.
