Guodian''s Bamboo Writings and the Rational Concepts in Qu Yuan''s Poetry
In 1993, a tomb of Chu period was unearthed in Jinmen, Hubei province. The life date and duty of the host of the tomb coincide with Qu Yuan's. The slips of bamboo, materials for writing in ancient times, in the tomb, provide us a detailed cultural environment. And the rational concepts in the Confucian and Tao's works written in the slips of bamboo can be furtherly proved and explained in Qu Yuan's poetry, and in return, provide valuable evidence for the research of Qu Yuan.

Water in Xu Hun''''s Poems
Water, as a cultural image, is depicted in Xu Hun's poems. The objective reason for this is that the places he lived were full of water; and the subjective reason is that the poet exploited image of water to express his feelings, for water is an important primitive image in Chinese traditional culture. Accordingly, there are two categories of water in Xu Hun's poems: the natural water and the imaginary water.

Political Roles of the Homeric Agora
Kings, the council and the assembly formed the backbone of the Homeric political system. Much attention was paid to the roles of the assembly in the discussion of the characters of the Homeric political system. This paper, based on the materials of the Epics, probes into the roles of the Homeric assembly to demonstrate that the assembly played important roles in political affairs since all the important questions concerning the communities were handed to the assembly. But it was still quite different from that of the classical polis because the latter lacked periodic meetings and voting system and never made resolutions. Only kings and aristocrats made speeches in the assembly. Therefore, under most circumstances, the assembly was a passive viewer of the affairs.

Chinese Rural Social Security A Current Situational Analysis and Conception of Countermeasures
Based on the analysis of current situation facing Chinese rural security, the article puts forward an overall conception and some concrete countermeasures. It holds the view that improving and reinforcing rural social security is such a complex systematic social engineering that an entire program and phased enforcement are needed. At present and in the following years, we should lay more emphasis on building a mechanism to meet the needs of market economy and to raise social security funds through various channels. We should also carry out social mutual aid activities and strengthen the legislation of social security law to set up systems of basic living security, medial insurance and social endowment insurance.
